At our Smallfield site we screen and blend four different types of Top Soil:

Suitable for: Sowing a new lawn Sowing grass seed Filling in dips and hollows on an existing lawn

Suitable for: Sowing a new lawn Sowing grass seed Filling in dips and hollows on an existing lawn

Suitable for: Laying turf Filling in raised beds/borders Planting trees & shrubs
|
Suitable for: Replacing sub soil Ground reshaping Filling in deep areas such as an unwanted pond
|
If none of the above fit your criteria you may need a pure Loam such as Medium Loam or Sterilized Loam. The main application for Sterilized Loam is for planting in and around pond areas. The sterilization means that it will not harm any fish or plant life, whilst its heavy texture provides excellent anchorage for valuable aquatic plants.
