Some years ago, in order to meet the combined needs of the Landscaping Industry, Civil Engineering firms and individual gardeners we developed this high quality screened and blended top soil.  The use of Landscaping Loam is an excellent way to “import” a good quality, clean and trustworthy top soil.  This is frequently necessary where the existing top soil may have been stripped, buried or contaminated.

Landscaping Loam is incredibly easy to work with thanks to its light, sandy texture.  Other ingredients that have been carefully selected for inclusion in the blend contribute dramatically to its long term performance.  The Humost particularly ensures a highly nutritious, rich dark loam.  Landscaping Loam meets and exceeds BS3882 Grade 2.

Landscaping Loam is screened through a piano wire screen to 10mm.  Due to it's screened size we do not  recommend the use of Landscaping Loam as a base for seeding a lawn.  The Landscapers Loam 5mm or Contractor Mix which are screened more finely (down to 5mm) are far more suitable.

This product is a carefully blended mix of Sand & Loam.  Due to it's smaller screened size (5mm) Contactor Mix is perfect for areas where a finer material is required. For ease of use this product is par-dried and lattice screened.  Contractor Mix can be used as an economic top dressing which uses excellent quality materials enabling budgets to be met and schedules to be kept without sacrificing quality.

This product is exactly as Landscaping Loam but screened through a finer lattice screen (5mm.) This then makes it suitable for domestic top dressing use as well as the multitude of  uses described for Landscaping Loam.

Where the finer quality of Landscaping Loam is expendable, we now produce an alternative "fill in" soil called General Purpose Loam.  This is a pure loam which is screened down to 20mm and blended with  Humost for additional nutrition.  Due to it's coarser screened size the General Purpose Loam is  not as versatile as the Landscaping Loam.  General Purpose Loam is only available during the summer months.

This is a loam taken from pasture land, which is then matured, screened and sterilised. The sterilisation is performed by treating the material with heat at a temperature of over 50°C which destroys any harmful bacteria, weed seed or fungus.

It’s main application is for planting in and around pond areas. The sterilization means that it will not harm any fish or plant life, whilst its heavy texture provides excellent anchorage for valuable aquatic plants.

Sterilised Loam is lattice screened to 4mm.
