Grass Seed

To complement our range of Loams and Growing Media we stock an extensive range of Grass Seeds by DLF Trifolium, the world’s largest producer of grass seed.  DLF Trifolium has made significant investment into research and development with breeding programmes carried out worldwide.

 Why Use Grass Seed?

• Sowing grass seed is considerably cheaper than laying turf.

• As there are no heavy turves to lift and lay, effort as well as money is saved.

• You can pick what day YOU would like to make your lawn. Unlike turf, grass seed does not deteriorate so there is much more flexibility. It is possible to wait even weeks until the weather is suitable.

• You can pick a mixture of grasses suitable for your conditions.

• Unlike turf, you will know exactly which grasses you are buying.

Wildflower Mixtures

ProFlora 1 (pictured above) is a particularly attractive mixture which contains:-
Corn Chamomile, Corn Marigold, Corn Cockle, Corn Poppy , Corn Flower

& White Campion

We are delighted to offer DLF Trifolium’s Wildflower mixtures in addition to the conventional seeds above. These provide a highly attractive contrast to amenity grassland. Combinations of British wildflowers and complementary grasses are specifically selected for different soil types.

Wild flowers and grasses provide a food source for all sorts of wildlife such as insects and birds.  Using Wild Flower Seed will encourage an array of new creatures into an area, which will also have the positive effect of helping to reduce garden pests.

Through the use of Wildflower mixtures it is possible to create a very attractive meadow area in what is often a neglected space.   Wildflower Mixtures are a superb way to introduce colour effortlessly.

The wild flowers used in the ProFlora range are guaranteed to be of native UK origins.
